Port Orange is a large, sprawling community that, despite its name, is not on the coast. Situated between Interstate 95 and the old Route 1, it does sit on what is known as the Intracoastal Waterway. So, for those people interested in Florida real estate with easy access to the ocean, Port Orange is an excellent choice. Ofcourse we cannot escape mentioning the exciting entertainment and a wonderful populace that’s truly global in its sense. This is what that reflects the essential South Florida lifestyle; so relax, loosen up and enjoy as if there is no tomorrow. To add the cherry on the cream, you might as well think about owning one of the condos from the vast range available here; else, you can settle for one of the budget-friendly vacation rentals plan. Take that as a type of test drive, for it shall help you further whether or not to go for one of the condos later on, when it shall be no work and all play.
The city is medium sized, about twenty-six square miles, and composed of 150 distinct neighborhoods; many of them tree-lined, quiet and peaceful. Yet, the city boasts a fine business and shopping district, and excellent restaurants. The town planners have kept growth well-organized over the years. As a result, the community has grown and has some aspect of big city living, yet has retained the small town appeal that so many people want to live in; and they have strived to protect the natural beauty of the area. There are also several beautiful state parks in the area. And, if you don’t mind a bit of a trek, there is the National Park – the Everglades. Given the community’s central location, Port Orange is in an ideal place for those people looking for lots of amenities. If you are a golfer, there are upwards of a dozen courses within easy driving distance: Crane Lakes Golf and Country Club, Cypress Head Golf Club, and Sugar Mill Country Club, to name only three. For boaters, the Intracoastal offers easy access to the Atlantic. From there, the sky – and the ocean’s – the limit: waterskiing, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing are all possible. As I-95 and I-4 are right there, residents can easily visit the theme parks of Kissimmee and Orlando: EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Wet ‘n Wild, and Sea World plus countless local parks and recreational facilities. Historic St. Augustine (oldest city in North America) is just a short haul up I-95. And, with that, there is Port Canaveral, departure point for a whole host of cruise lines. If a short trip to the Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Jamaica, the Grand Caymans and/or Mexico sounds like fun, Port Canaveral is the place you want to be near. Also, Daytona Beach International Airport is literally at the town’s doorstep, making travel to and from the community a breeze. So, if you want a pleasant community with wonderful local amenities, and some fantastic nearby attractions, Port Orange real estate is a great option; it is a splendid city to live in and the condos are quite something alright! And, as it is technically not a coastal community, nor one of the major cities, the prices of Port Orange real estate are much more reasonable. To live in the Orlando area, Kissimmee or Miami Beach, a condo would cost you astro-buck, whereas Port Orange real estate offers the best of both worlds. |
