Edgewater, Florida is a lovely little community nestled on the shores of the Indian River. If you need a vaction place or a permanent residence, Edgewater is the place to be. Buying real estate or renting a condo in Edgewater is a fulfilling experience for the place has so much to offer. While not a seaside town, it is an intra-coastal waterfront town, full of all the small town charm that you would expect to find in a Florida village. Yet, although it is quiet and peaceful, it is just a stone’s throw from the best boating and fishing the state has to offer. In addition, it has a vibrant and active business and commercial district.
Founded in the late 1800’s, and originally called Hawk’s Park, it has grown from a tiny village of just over a hundred people, to a seven thousand acre town with nearly twenty thousand residents. By any definition, Edgewater is a quaint, small town. And, Florida real estate there can be had for very reasonable prices. Having a single-family home built there can be very affordable, I would say downright cheap!! And, considering the recent housing slump, some prime parcels can be bought at great bargains. On the other hand, if you prefer to rent a Florida condo, prices are equally low for them. While Edgewater amenities are not as fancy as some of the larger condominium complexes in other areas; if you are vacationing on a budget, they are still good. Pools, recreation center, and access to the Intra-coastal are all standard. If water sports are your thing, the Atlantic is only a short boat ride away. Once out there, fishing, sailing, snorkeling and countless other sports await you.
While Edgewater is definitely a small town, it is not at all isolated. The old Route 1 passes right through it, and I-95 is only a few miles away. From them, Daytona Beach International Airport and the Amtrak railroad station are less than twenty miles away. If you want to visit some of the wonderful amenities that the State of Florida has to offer, Edgewater is ideally situated. From I-95, the NASA Space Center at Cape Canaveral is only about half an hour away. And near there is Port Canaveral, access point to countless cruise lines that can take you the Bahamas, St. Thomas, Jamaica and other vacation spots. If you like to partake of nature, the Everglades, the Florida Keys and numerous state parks stretch all up and down the Florida east coast.
On the other hand, if you prefer recreation of the tamer variety, several fine golf courses are all within a short drive of Edgewater. Also, going a few miles north on I-95 will bring you to State Road 50, which takes you straight into the heart of downtown Orlando. You want clubs, shopping or theme parks? Orlando is your place to visit, and it is little more than an hour away.
If you're an outdoor person who likes to enjoy a myriad of outdoor recreational activites or just a person who wants to enjoy a quite, spectacular and serene sunset, Edgewater is the place for you. In addition out here, you'll find condos to meet all your needs. Its an excellent place to invest in real estate. |
